Oskár Čepan Award 2024 - OPEN CALL

Centre for Contemporary Art Foundation(C-CAF) announces an open call for applications for the Oskár Čepan Award 2024. The project is intended for visual artists up to the age of 40, without limitation of artistic medium,who meet the conditions specified in the statute of the prize.

Each of the laureates of the Oskár Čepan Award 2024 will be supported with the sum of 4000 euros, intended for the realization of the work presented at the joint exhibition in Pistori Palace in Bratislava. The work to be presented at the exhibition should be a new and previously unexhibited work by the artist. One of the winning artists will be awarded a residency at Residency Unlimited (NY, USA) during the months of October and November 2024, based on a lottery drawing.

*The jury will select 4 laureates on the basis of:

PORTFOLIO OF WORKS in PDF -sample of works for a period of at least the last three years, video of the work (links to relevant source), descriptions

ARTIST STATEMENT -author's commentary on the work (max 3500 characters)

CV -year of birth / studies / solo exhibitions / group exhibitions / awards / residencies (max 3500 characters)

Due to the international composition of the jury, it is requested to submit all texts in both Slovak and English language.

The portfolio, artist statement and CV are submitted by the applicant via SUBMIT PROJECT after creating/logging in to a personal account. Artists are obliged to thoroughly familiarize themselves with the Oskár Čepan Award Statute before submitting a project. The applied profile and portfolio can be continuously modified and supplemented until the closing date.
